Top 5 submissions in UFC history

Number 5.

Ronda Rousey Vs Cat Zingano

The armbar is a very common submission in the UFC however not many do it better than Ronda Rousey, before her fall from the top she dominated the women's BW division often using her preferred move. The best example of her using this technique can be seen in her fight with Cat Zingano where she defended her BW belt with a 14 second submission via armbar, this was at the time the fastest finish in a UFC title fight and this feat claims my number 5 spot!

Number 4.

Chan Sung Jung Vs Leonard Garcia

The Korean Zombie takes the fourth spot on the list with this insane submission he pulled off on Garcia . This submission came after a 3 year lay off where he was doing his mandatory military service for his country, he returned to pull of the first ever "twister" submission in UFC history a incredibly rare submission in all of MMA.

Number 3.

Brett Johns Vs Joe Soto

The Welshman Brett Johns claims the third spot on the list by pulling off the rare calf-slicer submission on Joe Soto, this submission shows that not all subs look to break a bone or put you to sleep, some just hurt, really bad, Johns showed of the pain factor of this move with the images captured of Soto screaming in pain when he tapped 30 seconds into the first round

Number 2.

Aleksei Oleinik Vs Victor Pesta

In a top submission list its impossible not to include the boa constrictor Aleksei Oleinik who has 45 submission wins in MMA. However of those 45 this one stands out and takes the number 2 spot , against Victor Pesta, Aleksei locked in the first ever ezekiel choke, a very rare submission in MMA as the opponent must have assumed top mount a seemingly dominate position to pull this off. The completion of this move came as a surprise to many fans as no one seen a finish coming from Aleksei off his back but he managed it and went down in history to be the first and so far only man to complete this move.

Number 1.

Demetrious Johnson Vs Ray Borg

Taking the number 1 spot on this list is one of the greatest of all time Demetrious Johnson, Johnson takes the first place spot with this amazing armbar submission against Ray Borg. He pulled off this submission in a unique way where he had Borg in a back clinch where he lifted him up through the air and dropped him down to the canvas and while doing this he locked in the armbar, it was an incredible move never seen in the UFC before and to pull it off in a title fight is an amazing feat not to mention that this win gave Demetrious his 11th consecutive title defense of the BW belt setting a new record for title defenses breaking Anderson Silva's 10 defenses. Pulling of such an incredible submission in such high stakes circumstances is why he claims the number 1 spot for the greatest submission in the history of the UFC.
